Raipur: On Tuesday, Chhattisgarh crossed the mark of 3400 with 99 new coronavirus confirmed cases recorded in the state. Chhattisgarh witnessed a huge hike in the number of cases since the central government allowed more relaxation in unlock 2.0

The total number of covid_19 infected cases reached to 3415 including 673 active cases and as many as 14 people who died from the disease. On a brighter side, 84 people discharged on Tuesday, taking the tally to 2728 which comprises 79.8% of the total cases.

Of these new cases, 46 are from Raipur, 19 are from Janjgir-jhampa, 9 recorded from Bilaspur, 7 are from Kanker, 6 from Narayanpur district, 5 from Raigarh, 3 are from Balodabazar , 2 from Bijapur and 1 each case has been reported from Rajnandgaon and Behemetara district.

With a population of 2.9 crore, Chhattisgarh has conducted over 1,89,038 tests. Of which, 3014 have tested positive till date including 673 active cases and 2728 are said to be recovered from the virus, as per the data released by state health department.

All 28 districts are affected from the pandemic outbreak in the state. Raipur had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 492 confirmed infections, followed by Korba(323), Rajnandgaon(321), Janjgir-Jhampa(276),Balodabazar(256), Bilaspur(247), Jashpur(189) and so on.

Meanwhile, The total number of coronavirus cases in India surged to 7,19,246. On Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 deaths rose to 20,160. On the other hand, Coronavirus infected more than 1.15 crore people across the globe. The worldwide death toll from COVID-19 infection increased to 5.37 lakhs.
