New Delhi: The number of COVID-19 cases in India is rapidly increasing day by day. India hits a bleak milestone on Tuesday when 22,750 fresh cases were recorded in the last 24 hours— the highest ever. Currently, India has 7,42,417 cases of coronavirus. India is now the third worst hit country in the world after US & Brazil.

Atleast deaths were reported on Thursday, the third highest number of deaths in a single day, taking the total to 4,706. Maharashtra alone reported 85 deaths on Thursday.

The number of active COVID-19 patients in the country rose to 89,987 on Tuesday. India stands at third position in highest number of active cases in the world.

On the positive side, 4,56,831 people were recovered from the disease. India’s recovery rate from novel coronavirus disease zoomed to 61.5% on Tuesday, the highest so far.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 2,62,679 tests were conducted on Monday.

Maharashtra remains the worst hit state in the country, recorded 2,17,121 cases so far with atleast 1,37,000 cured cases and 9,250 deaths.

Tamil Nadu has proceeded with 1,18,594 confirmed cases and 71,116 cured cases. The state has reported 1,636 deaths so far. At least 3500 people tested positive for novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

Delhi, the national capital of India, recorded At least 1,024 confirmed positive with coronavirus disease in last 24 hours. Delhi has documented 1,02,831 cases of the novel coronavirus. So far. There are 3,165 deaths registered till date.

On the other hand, Chhattisgarh has constantly shown the increasing rate of coornavirus cases at a fast pace due to migration. The state has reported 3015 confirmed cases with 14 death reports.

Meanwhile, The United States has over 2.8 million total cases whereas Brazil, the second country with highest cases, has 1.6 million total coronavirus victims. India’s tally crossed that of Russia’s last week. The total cases across the globe now stand at over 1.15 crore.
