Corona CG : 9 new covid_19 positive including police constable found in Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh; total tally rises to 47
Surajpur: Chhattisgarh has reported 9 new coronavirus positive cases late night on Tuesday (28 April), taking the state’s tally to 47. This is the highest number of cases recorded in a single day. Earlier, on Tuesday, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (Mekahara) confirmed a positive case of a 58-year-old person who is resident of Jharkhand and who was kept under the isolation in surajpur with 106 other migrant workers in the camp.
According to the information, 9 more people tested positive in surajpur after coming in contact with 1 infected person who succumbed to the infection today evening. Among these 9, one police constable is also tested corona positive. This is the first case in Chhattisgarh where a police personnel has been infected. He was posted on duty at the isolation centre.

The number of active patients has reached 13 in the state. Now after Korba, surajpur is the worst-hit District in Chhattisgarh with a total of 10 active positive cases. However, RTPCR testing will be done of all the suspected patients in AIIMS Raipur to confirm the actual number of active case in the state.
He also stated that “All the patients will undergo RT-PCR testing to confirm the infection”
As per the source, all the workers were kept in the shelter home in Rajnandgaon before leaving for Surajpur and Jashpur. Speculations suggests, the workers living in shelter in rajnandgaon may have come in contact of the virus and will soon be tested for the same
On the other hand, laborers kept in Jashpur are also being considered as corona suspects. Along with Surajpur, testing of the laborers present in the shelter home of Jashpur has already under process with rapid test kits.
Meanwhile, many social workers came in contact with the workers who were staying in jashpur during this crucial time, they are too considered to be infected and soon their samples will be taken for further confirmation.
