Balodabazar: Collector Chandra Kumar and Senior Police Superintendent Deepak Jha conducted a meticulous inspection today at the paddy purchase centers in Balodabazar and Palari development blocks. During the visit, they interacted with farmers selling rice at the rice purchase centers in Gram Sakri of Balodabazar, Gram Panchayat Amera in Palari, and Palari Municipal Council. The Collector inspected the stock register, grain register, and token register in detail. Additionally, the moisture content of the stacked rice in Dheri was measured using a moisture machine. The quality of the rice was found to be satisfactory during the inspection.
During the inspection, the Collector took serious note of complaints from farmers about excess moisture and excess weight being recorded under the guise of moisture. He instructed all officials and managers that under no circumstances should excess weighing of rice be carried out in the name of moisture, and no rice with excess moisture should be purchased beyond the specified limit. Such negligence will not be tolerated.
The Collector emphasized that farmers work hard to produce rice, and they should receive a fair price for their hard work. The collector urged officials to ensure a systematic and well-organized system at the rice procurement centers. He stressed that farmers should be called to the rice procurement center on the same day to avoid unnecessary delays.
Collector Kumar also engaged in discussions with farmers, Fad Prabhari, laborers, and other villagers during the visit. Resident of Gram Amera, Pradeep Kumar, informed Collector Kumar that he faced no issues selling rice and paddy. Gram Sakri Dhanis Ram Sahu, who participated in the cooperative rice procurement, told the Collector that he sold 900 kattas of rice at the Sakri rice procurement center without any issues.
