Varanasi: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel departed to Varansi from Raipur at 7pm today. As per the information given by close sources, Baghel will attend at the Kisan Sammelan organized by Congress in Badwa Samay in Mata Sthan Bhanpur of Rudhauli Vidhan Sabha, Basti District. Prominent leaders including AICC in-charge secretary Rajesh Tiwari, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Singh Lallu will also attend the Sammelan. However, it is reported that Congress President Priyanka Gandhi would not attend the conference tomorrow.

Issues like sugarcane concerns amongst farmers in the district of Purvanchal are amongst few of them that would be highlighted during the Sammelan. During her previous visit, party chief Ms Gandhi had announced benefits like loan waiver for farmers, hike in paddy and sugar cane procurement per quintal  are few topics that would also be spoken. 

Sources also reveal a closed-door meeting to be held with prominent officials from the state where discussions on backward castes and business community would be held. Baghel, in the meeting is expected deliver assurance  in the pretext of growth and development to these communities. Following this meeting CM Baghel would return to Raipur.

The Basti Kisan Sammelan of Congress is being considered a pivotal gathering that would decide the foothold of Congress party in the state. Baghel who is charged as the Senior Observer for the Uttar Pradesh elections is expected to put forth radical strategies to set the party’s foot in the state.
