Raipur: On August 15, 2023, the state will mark Independence Day with profound reverence and fervor. Leading the main ceremony at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur, the capital, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will have the honor of hoisting the national flag. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister T.S. Singhdeo Surguja, along with Assembly Speaker Dr. Charan Das Mahant, will preside over the primary events in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district headquarters, where they’ll raise the flag.

Across other district headquarters, an array of ministers, parliamentary secretaries, and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will be in charge of the flag hoisting ceremonies. They will also share the chief minister’s heartfelt message with the citizens, underscoring the importance of unity and the progress of the state.

In a similar manner, Panchayat, Rural Development and School Education Minister Ravindra Choubey will head the ceremonies in Bemetara, while Home and Public Works Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu will do the honors in Durg. Several other ministers, including Mohammad Akbar Kabirdham of Forest and Climate Change, Amarjeet Bhagat of Food and Culture in Rajnandgaon, and Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agarwal in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, will lead the events in their respective districts. Each of these distinguished leaders will ensure that the spirit of Independence Day permeates every corner of their regions.
