A school teacher from the Chhattisgarh district of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh is being credited for having provided free education and other support to the girl child from the underprivileged community for the past 10 years. The schools in Bhatgaon, its district Headquarters, have seen Krishna Kumar Kurre, posted at the Government Girls Higher Secondary school, distributing books, guides and other learning materials to financially weak students, so as not to let their economic hardship stop them from getting quality education.
As is his custom, Kurre handed out free textbooks, Pariksha Bodh, Pariksha Saar, guides and other learning materials to 22 class 11 and 25 class 12 students of Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Hindi and English. He has also donated academic content for 20 Class 9 and 26 Class 10 students of the economically backward sections in the field.
Apart from teaching study material to the students, the teacher frequently holds motivational sessions to compel students to get motivated. He inspires their commitment, diligence and self-assurance by giving them speeches, thus encouraging them to have the ambitions to be tomorrow’s great players.
Kurre said that his goal in launching the program is to make sure no child is left without an education due to lack of resources. The teacher thinks that all girls have a right to an equally strong education, as well as to essentially pursue their dreams to contribute to society.
He also emphasised that education is the greatest form of charity and educating a girl helps uplift an entire community. His 10-year involvement has helped lift the burden of financial strain on families and has helped hundreds of students pursue higher education with determination and confidence.
This is a favorite project to see and believe in a teacher’s out-of-school efforts.
