Raipur– Like every year, the Chhattisgarh government also provides summer camps for school-going children. Nonetheless, due to the current heat, the School Education Department has called for cancelling all summer camps in the state to prevent the children from being affected.
Lately, the weather in the state has been on the rise for the past three days. It was Wednesday, and the temperature hit 47 degrees Celsius, higher than in previous years. Also, the Meteorological Department announced that heatwave conditions are expected to prevail over the state on Thursday.
In response, Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Secretary of the School Education Department, wrote a letter addressed to all the district collectors and education officers and ordered them to discontinue all the summer camps.
These summer camps were initially created to develop creative thinking and the many-sided talents of the students. These camps involved many students who actively participated in different activities related to environmental protection with the goal of ‘Best from Waste’. The students in the camps were allowed to make artistic materials from waste, which not only enhanced their creativity but also increased awareness of the need to protect the environment.
