Chhattisgarh witnessed another huge spike in daily coronavirus count with over 104 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, The state nears the bleak milestone of 1200 mark. The total number of coronavirus cases in Chhattisgarh has zoomed to 1197.

Among the total people infected as on Monday, 335 have recovered since the pandemic emerged in the state.

Of these 104, 20 were found in Mungeli, 14 recorded from Korba, 10 cases emerged from Sarguja district,9 are from Janjgir, 8 from balodabazar, 7 from Raigarh, 6 from Kawardha, 5 each surfaced from Rajnandgaon, Koriya and Kanker, 4 each from Raipur & Bilaspur, 3 cases are from Behemetara, 2 from Surajpur while 1 case registered from Jashpur District.

With these 104 cases, there are total 858 active caseloads in the state.

Meanwhile, AIIMS Raipur records its 3rd death due to coronavirus and brings the total deaths to 5 in the state. The recent death was of a woman who was already a patient of Pulmonary tuberculosis. She hailed from Durg District and admitted in AIIMS, Raipur.

In all, 23 districts are affected from the pandemic outbreak in the state. Korba had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 125 confirmed infections. The table below shows highest to lowest confirmed cases for all districts.

Presently, samples are being tested in 5 designated labs in the state, 3 of which are Government health facilities. The total number of sample collected so far is 92,598 out of which 86,719 and there are 4,721 samples that are under scrutiny, According to the health department bulletin.

In Chhattisgarh, there are currently 8 hospitals exclusively dedicated for covid19 patients. The approximate cumulative capacity of all hospitals stands at 1800 beds.

As of June 8 data, 2,31,965 people, mostly migrants, are kept in 19,903 Qurantine centers in the state, while 48,776 are under home isolation as a precautionary measure.

As 3 cases of pregnant women deaths in quarantine centres emerged from the state. Chhattisgarh government announced to make separate Quarantine centers for pregnant women with proper arrangements. The first such Covid-19 quarantine centre has already been made in Bilaspur district by the government.

Chhattisgarh’s 1,197 cases put it at number 21 in terms of number of cases among all states and union territories in India.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh had also relaxed many restriction and it officially entered Unlock 1.0 to boost the economic crunch, surfaced due to 74 days lockdown that the nation underwent to curb the coronavirus. Except Malls, the government has allowed Religious places, Restaurants, Hotels, Workplaces to reopen with cautious measures.
