RAIPUR: Predicting heavy rains, thunderstorm along with hailstorm, the Met Dept has issued an alert across several districts in Chhattisgarh.

A western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Pakistan, adjoining Iran and the neighbourhood in the middle tropospheric levels is expected to produce light or moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning over the Western Himalayan Region from April 26-30.

In view of the cyclonic circulation that persists over western parts of Vidarbha, light or moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may occur over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next five days.

Districts in the South are expected to recieve hail today. Mungeli, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Kabirdham, Rajnandgaon, Bemetara, Durg, Raipur, Balodabazar, Balod, Kanker, Bastar, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma including surrounding areas have been issued an orange alert by the weather watch dog. While a yello alert has been raised in Korea, Balrampur, Surajpur, Korba, Surguja, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Jashpur, Janjgir.
