In a twist of irony, Chhattisgarh Deputy-CM Arun Sao has doubted the integrity of those protesting against the alleged paper leak in the NEET-UG 2026 exam calling many of the participants “unbecoming students”.
In response to the demonstrations in New Delhi and Raipur, Sao has also levied allegations of political motivation and Opposition parties’ hand in mobilising the protesters.
The agitators do not seem to be genuine students as they are obviously dispatched by political parties”, he added.
Expressions of concern by any member of the public were acceptable, but the protests should be in a disciplined manner, the Deputy Chief Minister added, while emphasising that the government had already listened to their concerns through the delegation.
CJP has been organizing protest marches at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, protesting against the resignation of Union Minister for education Dharmendra Pradhan, accountability of the leaked NEET papers, and overall overhaul of the examination system in India.
The organisation has been critical of the government’s failure to stop successive examination irregularities in the first place, and has requested more transparency in the selection and training procedure.
Comprehensively rejecting allegations of split within the ruling party, Arun Sao responded to the Congress allegation during the separate discussions about the BJP’s two-day organisational meeting.
He ruled out the creation of these meetings and, saying organisational meetings are a common aspect of the functioning of the Congress, questioned whether the Congress was reflecting its intra-party divisions.
The comments are made during a nationwide debate on NEET controversies and a flurry of student protest.
