The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo met the Prime Minister at the Parliament house and sought central support for three major infrastructure and healthcare projects. The chief minister held a detailed discussion with the prime minister on key issues related to the state’s development.
“Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri @vishnudsai met Prime Minister @narendramodi today,” the prime minister’s office (PMO) said in a post on X.
As per the statement released by the state government, the Chief Minister has requested early central approval for a proposed Rs 10,500 crore gas-based urea plant in Ratnagiri. He informed that the state-level clearances and the land allocation for the facility were completed. The project aims to secure fertilizer supplies for regional farmers and spur local industrial activity.
For the second proposal, the CM also requested special central assistance to extend permanent electricity grid connections to 461 remote and security-sensitive villages primarily located in the Naxal-dominated Bastar region. The government said that these villages currently rely on off-grid systems due to the past geographical and security challenges. Providing main grid support to these areas will help in upliftment of healthcare, education and local enterprises.
Besides, Sai also urged the Prime Minister to expedite the process of establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda, either in Raipur or Bastar, to strengthen the healthcare services and promote the use of traditional medicines in the state.
Presenting the ‘Bastar Vision’, the chief minister said the region is witnessing a phase of rapid transformation. He informed the prime minister that flagship initiatives such as ‘Niyad Nellanar 2.0’ and ‘Bastar Muhim’ are ensuring the effective implementation of government welfare schemes across all 5,542 villages in the Bastar division, benefiting nearly 39 lakh people, the statement said.
