Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday unveiled various development programmes for Janjgir-Champa district’s Navagarh and its adjoining areas during a public event in Janjgir-Champa. Announcements were made with regards to a new Public Works Department (PWD) rest house, a building for paddy procurement centre (PPC) and funding for various community projects.

The Chief Minister, speaking at the Podi spiritual and community event in Racha, said the state government just cannot come up with a strategy other than focusing on the infrastructure strengthening and the enhancement of public facilities in the rural areas. He also joined in the foundation laying and the grand opening ceremony of the various development projects on the field.

One of the major announcements was the new construction of PWD Rest House in Navagarh, providing addition administrative and people’s convenience. The Chief Minister, again, welcomed the construction of a new building for a paddy procurement centre, which will be beneficial to the local farmers during the paddy procurement season.

The other releases were for the beautification of Ram Sagar pond for funding of amount of ₹50 lakh, an livelihood building dedicated to the activities of self employment of women and an amount of ₹15 lakh for the construction of a community hall for Sahu community.

Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Member of Parliament Kamlesh Jangde and others of the local public representatives attended the event.

The projects are anticipated to help develop local infrastructure and also help provide better facilities to residents, officials said. On completion of the programme the Chief Minister left for Bilaspur district on her dioceseal tour.
