The Chhattisgarh Cabinet led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took several big decisions regarding the farmers, government employees, electricity consumers and infrastructure development. Key proposals were paddy procurement during Kharif 2026-27, making health centres cashless and financial assistance for contractors of the road construction project.
Paddy Procurement to Begin November 15
With the Government expecting to mobilise over 27.50 lakh farmers, the procurement of paddy will start from November 15, 2026. The price of the paddy is to be raised to ₹3,100 per quintal with a cap of 21 quintals/acre.
Farmers who registered last year with a number and ID Seed will not have to register again. The biometric verification facilitates procurement from real farmers, and digital crop survey will help decide the cultivated area.
In this regard the state will create 360 more procurement centres, bringing the total to 3,100. In addition, the cabinet agreed to further PNDP (electricity bill concession) for domestic consumers in the scheme M-Urja till March 31, 2027. Nearly 7.25 lakh households will be benefited.
Relief for Road Construction Contractors
Chhattisgarh Rural Road Development Agency contractors will be able to claim approximately ₹130.88 crore from the cabinet for rising bitumen prices, as the cabinet approved in this regard. The support will be for qualified bitumen that is bought and applied from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
Eligible Public Works Department projects are planned for additional relief which is estimated at ₹70 crore to ₹100 crore.
Wider Development Initiatives
Other approvals were ₹500 crore for the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Mission over five years and plans on tourism, sports, industrial investment and changes in Krishak Unnati Yojana.
The cabinet also authorized cashless healthcare at all government buildings and institutes for Government officials and their family members.
