Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will chair a cabinet meeting on Thursday at his residence office, scheduled to begin at 11 am. The meeting will primarily focus on discussing the supplementary proposal and issues related to paddy cultivation ahead of the upcoming monsoon session of the assembly.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Baghel will engage in discussions with his cabinet colleagues regarding the announcements to be made during the session. The four-day assembly session is set to commence on July 18, during which pending bills will be addressed, and the first supplementary budget will be passed.
One significant topic on the agenda for the cabinet meeting is the potential decision concerning contractual and daily wage employees in Chhattisgarh. The government is considering various aspects related to the regularisation of these employees. It is worth noting that health workers in the state are currently on strike, demanding the fulfilment of a 24-point charter, including equal pay and regularisation. This strike is impacting the functioning of hospitals, including outpatient departments, surgeries, and lab tests.
Regarding the regularisation of contractual employees, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdeo has indicated that information has been sought from all departments. A decision will be made after thorough discussions with relevant stakeholders.
The cabinet meeting holds significance as it will shape the government’s approach towards various issues, including legislative matters and addressing the demands of contractual employees. The outcome of the meeting will have implications for the upcoming assembly session and the overall governance in Chhattisgarh.
