Bijapur: In a disturbing case of security forces’ alleged misconduct in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, a BJP leader was attacked by his own security guards. The case of Nagesh Tinge, head constable of police, where he fired at BJP leader Bilal Khan inside his house with a service rifle. It was all recorded on camera and has since circulated on the social media platform.

The occurrence happened in the town of Bhopalpatnam in Chhattisgarh. Going by the accounts of the incident, Bilal Khan was at home, just lazing around, when the security personnel, Nagesh Tinge, intimidating, walked into the house with his service rifle pointing at the innocent man. Fortunately, another security guard was at the crime scene, and he easily overpowered Tinge before the latter could make further attempts and call the police for assistance.

On receipt of the information, the police immediately rushed to the spot. Inspector of Police, Bhopalpatnam Jeevan Kumar Jangde apprehended the rifle and began an investigation of the case. He was arrested by the local police, and the constable Nagesh Tinge who was accused of misconduct and drinking alcohol on duty, was suspended on the spot.

This has prompted concerns over the measures and staff behaviour in security that is supposed to guard in noted personalities. The police are still probing to understand the reason that led to the constable’s action and also to ascertain how to deal with the security negligence.

This case, therefore, calls for closely-knit measures to be taken to avoid such incidences in the future and safeguard any individual under protection. The local police are still conducting their search in order to reveal all details of the occurrence and punish all the culprits.
