Raipur– During the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, a matter regarding constructing a divider from Telibandha to VIP Chowk in Raipur came to light. Public Works Department Minister Arun Sawh raised the issue in the assembly and proposed the formation of a high-level committee, chaired by the regional commissioner, to investigate and take strict action against those found guilty. It’s worth noting that Lalluram Dot Com had initially brought up constructing the divider from Telibandha to VIP Chowk.
BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar raised another issue involving an illegal tender worth two crore rupees, alleging that a road had miraculously appeared in the country for the first time. He questioned who the person was behind the magic that affected everyone in the vicinity, including the Chief Minister, leaders, and officials, as the road now facilitated their movements. Ajay Chandrakar questioned the approval process for constructing the road on the national highway.
Minister Arun Sawh clarified that on June 13, 2022, the Municipal Corporation had written a letter to the NHAI and received a response in return. Despite a team of officers assessing the situation, they needed help determining who was responsible for the construction work. The project was halted, and the Municipal Corporation’s untied funds funded the construction.
Arun Sawh announced that a high-level investigation committee, chaired by the regional commissioner, would be formed to probe the matter thoroughly. Strict actions would be taken against those found guilty. Ajay Chandrakar insisted that the two crore tender was divided into ten parts. He proposed the inclusion of Raipur city legislators in the investigation committee.
This development sheds light on significant concerns regarding construction projects and financial matters within the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, prompting a call for thorough investigations and accountability.
