The Congress would abolish everything that went wrong under the BJP rule when it comes to power again, Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant had said a day after the no-confidence motion against the state government was rejected in the Assembly.

Mahant fumed over alleged irregularities in the NEET exam in his press conference, which was also held at the Congress party’s Congress headquarters in support of Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against the same.

When charges were filed against the no-confidence motion and it was thought to be toothless, Mahant asked the government why it took almost 10 hours to defend itself in Assembly if it was not serious.

He also pointed out the lack of an attitude of service in the Business of the Government by the BJP representatives and corruption in various areas such as paddy procurement, coal, liquor and sand mining. Ministers are advised not to indulge in any misbehaviour, as Congress, Mahant said, was well aware of whatever was going on within the government.

Underlining the problem of examination paper leaks, Mahant supported Rahul Gandhi’s nation-wide campaign that students all over the country lost their lucrative jobs due to irregularities in recruitment and entrance exams on a regular basis.

He said 152 examination papers have leaked so far since 2014 and “such an occurrence cannot be chalked up to a case of administrative error”. In his opinion the regular paper leaks have become a big problem in the country and it is still impacting the trajectories of millions of learners.

The Congress would keep raising issues of students, unemployment and corruption before Mahant claimed the elected government of the BJP must start performing well or would be held accountable by the people at the next elections.
