Raipur: A change in Rahul Gandhi’s Chhattisgarh itinerary has been making rounds after the opposition slammed the state Congress party. It is being speculated that Rahul Gandhi who is scheduled to arrive in Raipur on 3rd February would now address the gathering at the Science College Ground in Raipur.

Reportedly, Mr Gandhi was invited by CM Baghel to lay the foundation stone for Amar Jyoti Jawan in Nava Raipur. However, the opposition claims that the recent farmers protest in the state capital has alarmed the Baghel Govt and so it has decided to change the venue. Former state CM Brijmohan slammed the ruling party, saying it has now lost its support from the people of the state.

Meanwhile, CM Baghel has begun a meeting with his cabinet that is looking into the preparations ahead of Mr Gandhi’s arrival. Baghel after arriving from Chandigarh on Monday confirmed that the first instalment of Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdur Yojana would be launched in presence of Rahul Gandhi at Science College Ground Raipur on February 3. Under the scheme, Chhattisgarh Government will give an annual financial aid of Rs 6,000 to the rural landless people.
