Raipur: Citing the drastic surge in COVID-19 cases, the CG administration on Monday has ordered that samples of passengers arriving at the state from neighbouring regions be checked at airports and other ports of entry. Health experts have been deployed at all entry ports to perform the procedure.
The state govt issued the order to combat the rapid rise in the cases. The General Administration Department has written to divisional commissioners, inspector-generals of police, collectors and superintendents of police to ensure strict compliance with the instructions related to COVID-19 sample checking for passengers arriving at airports in the state.
On Tuesday, India added 11,973 fresh infections. CG’s active tally rose to 757 after 61 cases were added. So far, 11,39,074 patients recuperated in the state. The death toll stood at 14,036.
