Pakhanjanjur, a region within the Kanker district has been experiencing tension due to recent administrative move that saw the demolition drives, which provoked a lot of anger among the people living in the area. On Friday, Bang community members demanded a total bandh to protest, and its effects were felt throughout the Kapasi, Pakhanjur, and the Bande areas as the majority of shops were still closed in the morning.
The demonstration is arranged, as a reaction to the demolition of half a dozen houses in the New Para locality, which was undertaken by the administration as a bulldozer exercise.
