BJP leader Sachin Baghel has stated that Congress leader and former Lok Jagatan Cooperative Bank chairman Navaz Khan has been involved in fraudulent appointments and bank funds theft. Baghel claimed an amount of “5 lakhs” to be spent on biryani and a similar amount on sweets to be spent in a press conference.
He claimed that Khan spent three lakh rupees during his oath-taking ceremony as the former chairman, even though there is no provision for such expenditure after assuming the position of bank chairman.
Baghel further alleged that Khan violated regulations by spending approximately 75 lakh rupees on various events, including a farmer’s convention and a conference attended by Congress national president Khadga. Khan is also accused of burdening the bank with additional financial liabilities during his tenure.
BJP leader Baghel took concrete measures to prove his claims by providing documents during the press conference. The matter has been under investigation for several days, with the Dongargarh police currently searching for Khan, who served as the former district cooperative central bank chairman.
The police investigation has revealed that finances are in order to the rate of 28 lakhs of rupees, and also, the wrongly sanctioned loan to some farmers has been transacted. In connection with the results of the investigation, the Dongargarh police have made an announcement to Khan, who later on had promised to come for the interrogation at the police station at 11 a.m., but it has been long since the telephone had been switched off, and he has been avoiding the authorities.
