Netherlands defeats USA 3-1 to qualify for QF of FIFA WC 2022. Denzel Dumfries, Memphis Depay, and Daley Blind scored for the Netherlands to give them a comfortable win. Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the Netherlands, slotting the ball into the net. Daley Blind swept in Netherlands’ second goal to put his team 2-0 ahead. Xavi Simons replaced Memphis Depay, making his international debut.
After HT, Haji Right pulled one back for the USA instilling hopes of a win. Just minutes later, Denzel Dumfries scored his first and the team’s third sealing the day for the Netherlands.
The first match of Round 16 was underway at the Khalifa stadium Al Rayyan today. In the second round on December 4th, Argentina will take on Australia at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium. Argentina faced a major blow after they lost to Saudi Arabia in their first group-stage match but showed a massive comeback and finished as the Group C toppers. Australia on the other hand, have equal number of points and finished in the second position in Group D.
