Gujarat Titans demolish SRH by 82 runs in one-sided domination in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Pat Cummins had no hesitation in bowling first. His bowlers didn’t disappoint as GT were reduced to 26/2 inside the Powerplay. The likes of Praful Hinge and Cummins himself did really well but when GT were 64/3, in came Washington Sundar and things started to change.

SRH finished things off decently as Sakib Hussain picked up a couple of wickets but GT managed to get to a total of 168.

The chase unraveled immediately after Mohammed Siraj dismissed Travis Head for a duck in a wicket-maiden opening over. Kagiso Rabada delivered a Player of the Match performance. The South African speedster led the charge with the ball after GT defended 168 in ruthless fashion. Rabada removed Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan to put Hyderabad under massive pressure. The visitors never recovered as wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.

Earlier, valuable contributions from Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar helped GT recover on a tricky surface and post a competitive total.

The victory was another major statement from Shubman Gill’s side, who are peaking at exactly the right time in the tournament. Defending 168 on a batting-friendly Ahmedabad ground underlined the confidence and adaptability within the Gujarat camp. With this victory Gujarat Titans stormed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.

It remains to see which team would now storm the table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, take on an in-form Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur. That game will be played on Wednesday, 13 May, and will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT).
