Mumbai Indians defeated hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday. Arjun Tendulkars brilliant final over bowling defending 20 runs, helmed the victory against the orange army. Junior Tendulkar was quite in action as he picked up his first maiden IPL wicket dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was caught by Rohit Sharma at covers.
Tendulkar was entrusted to bowl the last over and it was a big call from the MI team management. Despite heavy weights like Tim David and Hritihik Shokeen, Mumbai preferred Arjun, who had only bowled four overs prior to that in his IPL career. Arjun finished with figures of 2.5-0-18-1
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan began the show as the hosts won the toss opting to field. Natarajan picked up Rohit Sharma. The left-arm seamer bowled a slower one which Rohit Sharma could not pick. He tried to play the ball on the leg-side and got a leading edge. Skipper Markram took a simple catch in the circle.
Cameron Green scored a timely half-century to help Mumbai Indians post a challenging 192 for five. He scored an unbeaten 64 off 40 deliveries with the help of six fours and a couple of maximums. Later, Cameron 1/29(4)& 64* (40) was awarded the man of the match.
Ishan Kishan (38) and Tilak Varmas’ quickfire 17-ball 37 in the first innings also provided valuable contributions. Marco Jansen (2/43) snared two wickets for the home team while Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/31) and T Natarajan (1/50) took wickets apiece.
