India Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Pooja Vastrakar Uncertain for Women’s T20 World Cup Semis: Sources

Going by reports it is speculated that skipper and captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar may miss the upcoming encounter with Australia owing to illness. India defeated Ireland in the latest match achieving six points. It defeated Pakistan, West Indies, and Ireland qualifying for the knockout stage competition.

Ahead of the semi-final clash, Harmanpreet had pointed out some points of concern for Team India.

“We started really well but in the middle overs, we did not bowl according to plan and gave away too many runs. That is where we lost the momentum. We were doing well with the bat but did not get the run rate that we were looking for and that is why we lost wickets,” said Harmanpreet in the post-match presentation after the loss against England.

The women in blue would be grasping at straws if the star player would miss the play. India is set to face off defending champions Australia in the semis of the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa, starting at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening.

Australia, heads into the semi-finals as firm favorites, especially with a 3-2 upper hand over India in Women’s T20 World Cup matches. Moreover, Australia got the better of India in the 2020 T20 World Cup final and Commonwealth Games gold medal match last year.
