In the Men’s hockey – Q3 underway India leads the battles at 2-0 against Wales. Harmanpreet Singh became the highest-scoring Indian player in the history of CWG after Sandeep Singh. Currently, at 4-0, India dominated the game and secured a place in the semis.
Earlier in the day, Jasmine secured bronze with her quarter-final win in the Lightweight category vs Troy Garton. In Squash, Youngsters Sunayna Kuruvilla and Anahat Singh entered the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s doubles event. Sunayna and the 14-year-old Anahat made short work of Yeheni Kuruppu and Chanithma Sinaly 11-9, 11-4 in straight games in their opening match.
The Indian weight lifters helped India shine securing the 6th medal and taking the tally to 10 which included 3 golds. Judokas have so far picked up 3 medals while Sourav Ghoshal (Men’s Singles Squash) and Tejaswin Shankar (Men’s High Jump) added historic bronze medals in respective events – a first for India at the Games
