The 10th day of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 recorded a major achievement for India as it added 16 medals in a day, headlined by a dream run of the boxing contingent who contributed majorly. Pugilists Preeti Pawar, Jaismine Lamboria, Sakshi Chaudhary, Priya Ghanghas, Arundhati Choudhary, Sachin Siwach, and Ankush Panghal bagged the top honours, while Jadumani Singh, Lovlina Borgohain and Narender Berwal won silver medals in their respective weight categories.
Meanwhile, a distance by a difference of just 4 milliseconds earned India its next silver. Long distance runner Gulveer Singh clinched his second medal for the season in the men’s 5,000 metres final, bagging bronze. Besides, at the shot put event, India produced a one-two finish in the men’s F-57, with Soman Raina clinching gold and Shubham Juyal bagging silver.
Another silver and bronze were added in men’s triple event by Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu respectively. Judoka Unnati Sharma also finished third, bagging a bronze medal in Judo.In the 4x400m mixed relay final, India came sixth at 3:20.32 seconds. Jamaica s took the gold, going from fourth to the first, which was run by James Oakley. The Indian contingent also failed to secure a medal in the pole vault. Dev Kumar Meena and Kuldeep Kumar failed to clear 5.40 metres on their final attempt, finishing late in the men’s pole vault finale.
Similarly, India’s lawn bowl campaigns at Commonwealth Games 2026 also came to an end as Nayanmoni Saikia failed in the women’s singles sectional play. She ended her full campaign with two wins and three losses against South Africa’s Bridget Hersonman.
