India fast bowler S Sreesanth has made a new revelation about his controversial clash with India head coach Gautam Gambhir in a Legends League Cricket (LLC) match in December 2023.

In a press conference, Sreesanth had said Gambhir not only had transformed him into a ‘fixer’ but also labelled him a ‘Deshdrohi’ (traitor) in the middle of a heated game. The clash started because of the former pacer, who hit Gambhir with a bouncer in the game, the former pacer added.

Sreesanth said that Gambhir missed his shot at attack first, before the situation became heated up. He noticed that Gambhir used to refer to the spot-fixing controversy which resulted in his suspension from cricket in his words and used foul language, he claimed.

The Kerala pacer even said that he tried to reassure the situation by asking Gambhir as to what caused all the commotion but said the usefulness of words kept coming. Sreesanth also claimed that Gambhir had made multiple such offensive, personal comments.

It all stems back to Sreesanth’s connection with the spot-fixing scandal of the IPL season-2013. Initially given a life ban, he received a little bit less and his suspension was shortened to seven years, which means that he is now once again permitted to do the thing that he loves more than anything else.

One of the highlights of the confrontation is the fact that the two of them played together for India. Sreesanth has been vocal about the episode in public several times, whereas, Gambhir has been quiet in the aftermath of the episode.

Gambhir is currently the head coach of the Indian cricket team, responsible for some of his best works, such as ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and the T20 World cup 2026.
