Madhya Pradesh: The Ranji Trophy Finals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed a never before incident on Sunday. 41 times champions, team Mumbai was defeated by Madhya Pradesh by six wickets and bagged the trophy for the first title in history.
The Madhya Pradesh team was given a grand welcome in Indore on their arrival. To thank the almighty, the winning team players and their coach Chandrakant Pandit visited Khajrana Ganesh Mandir on Tuesday, for the second time.
The team paid a visit at the same place on Monday as well, but the wining trophy accompanied them on their next visit here on Tuesday. The team coach in a media interaction disclosed details about the teams’ practice sessions and strategies they planned for the finals after one of their prominent bowlers, Punit Daate, got injured in the semi-finals.
The coach lauded the efforts and stated that the team received great support from a number of cricket officials and conveners; the best being a video message from former Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association Chief and current Union Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia.
