BHOPAL: The Shivraj Singh Govt on Wednesday at a special cabinet meeting announced the ‘CM Learn and Earn Scheme’ for unemployed youths. Under the scheme, the youth will be given a stipend of Rs 8k-10k per month while they undergo the training process. The dedicated sum of money would be directly transferred to their accounts on1st of every month.

“The cabinet has approved a new scheme for unemployed youths in the state ‘Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana’ (Chief Minister Learn and Earn Scheme). Youth who have passed class 12th, ITI, Graduation and post-graduation, all of them will be eligible for the scheme and a stipend amount will also be given to them for learning skills,” CM Chouhan told reporters here.

12th-pass students, graduate, postgraduate, and diploma holders will be eligible for the scheme. Candidates will be able to explore over 700 types of sectors including engineering, tourism, hotel management, hospital, railway, ITI, software development, banking, Chartered Accountant, industries, and MSME. The stipend varies according to the qualification of the candidate utilizing the scheme.

He further said,  “The state government is making various efforts for employment. The process of recruitment of 1 lakh posts is going on, over 60,000 recruitments have been done and 40,000 will also be done soon. By August 15, 1 lakh recruitments will be completed. Today, I gave instructions to identify scope for recruitment in the government departments. After examining it, the recruitment process will continue even after 1 lakh recruitment by August 15.”

Special establishments will be made for registration under the scheme. Officials will begin accepting applications from June 15 to July 15th following which the placements according to the student’s eligibility will begin on July 31st.

Earlier, Chhattisgarh also implemented a scheme for the benefit of the youth. The CG Youth Unemployment Scheme was announced by the Baghel Cabinet where unemployed youth whose family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum, will be paid Rs 2,500 every month. Additionally, the unemployed youth will be trained in skill development and will be helped in getting work.
