A man in Madhya Pradesh made headlines after the doctors reportedly removed a bottle guard (lauki) from his rectum. The 60-year-old farmer came to the doctor with a complaint of severe stomach ache. When the doctors performed an X-ray, they were shocked to see the presence of a bottle guard in his rectum.
While the cause of insertion of bottle guard in the rectum is still unknown, the man was immediately admitted to the hospital and the doctors performed a complex surgery lasting almost 2 hours to remove the vegetable.
They performed the surgery after an initial examination, the doctors declared that the an was out of danger and recovering. The extraction of objects from bodily orifices has become alarmingly common among doctors worldwide.
