Sagar: Madhya Pradesh’ Sagar district is panic struck after three security guards were murdered in the past 72 hours in what is being called ‘serial killings’. Preliminarily, the police suspect the murders have been committed by the same person, however there seems no clarity as of now.
Eye witnesses are being questioned, sketch artists have been called for to get details of the suspects. CCTV footage have been extracted and scientific evidences are being collected, officials said.
The first murder was reported on the intervening nights of August 28-29 at a factory under Cantt police station limits, where security guard Kalyan Lodhi 50 years was smashed to death using a hammer. Another murder took place at an arts and commerce college under Civil lines police station limits, the police officials said. Shambhu Narayan Dube, 60 was killed on the intervening nights of August 29-30 after being attacked with a stick.
Superintendent of Police Tarun Nayak said the killings in Cantt and Civil Lines police station areas were similar in nature and appeared to have been executed by the same person.
In the third incident, watchman Mangal Ahirwar, who guarded a house, was killed in Sagar’s Moti Nagar area on the intervening night of August 30-31 after being attacked in a similar manner like Dube.
Special teams have been constituted to nab the culprit.
