Violent clashes erupted in the suburban area of Mira Road near Mumbai, following a clash that took place over plans to sacrifice the goats before Eid al-Adha. As per the images provided by sources, the protest was organized against the existence of livestock at the Srishti Complex in Poonam Cluster 1 on account of an alleged illegal housing and attack.

While speaking to the press, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) coordinator, Harsh Singh, accused that 40 to 50 goats had been kept illegally on the premises of the housing society. According to the VHP official, such action on the part of some members has created many health and logistics issues as well as caused serious breathing problems for the seniors staying in the complex. “They have done all this without taking permission from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC),” stated Harsh Singh.

The fight quickly turned violent after this point. Singh said that in addition to being assaulted, he had been subjected to a violent attack using a knife from a Muslim man during the fight, which caused him to receive a deep cut on his hand. Requests for Attempted Murder Cases After the altercation, the injured people went to the nearest Kashimira police station to file their complaints. While the police filed an FIR against the offenders, the Hindus feel deeply dissatisfied with the police’s response at this stage. “An FIR has been filed, but the police have ignored the attempt to murder charge,” Singh stated.

“The main and non-negotiable requirement that we now have is that Section 307 (attempt to murder) should be booked against the main offenders.” This event has taken place amid increasing debate regarding animal killings within public residential zones across the country. Similar to the case, Delhi minister Kapil Mishra has already issued a warning to the residents of the city not to engage in any sort of illegal public slaughter and sacrifice.
