Lucknow: In the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, there has been a vivid moment of embarrassment on the occasion of 75th Independence Day as the MP of Samajwadi Party (SP), ST Hassan, and other members of the party messed up the national anthem at a flag hoisting ceremony.
On Sunday, the Lok Sabha MP reached the tomb of the great freedom fighter, Nawab Majju Khan to pay his tribute. After that, he took his leave for an event at Gul Shahid Park where he hoisted our national flag. He went on to recite the first verse of our national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. A video went viral soon after the event where he messed up the verse of the anthem. At the event, the other participants fumbled and directly went to the last verse of the anthem and repeated “Jaya Hai” thrice. The MP gave a cold glance at others.
Several social media users trolled him for making such a mistake being an MP. After the event, ST Hasan did not comment anything on the incident but instead focused on discussing the political agenda of their party. He said that ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls, Bharatiya Janta Party is trying hard to create a gap between the people of Hindu and Muslim communities. “It is not our Job to polarize people. Ask BJP why they are moving forward with such agendas,” said Hasan in the interview.
