Delhi: Amid the lockdown in the wake of Covid-19, schools and colleges along with all other institutions have been shut down in the country in order to avoid mass gathering and put a check on the spread of the COVID-19. Various examinations have been put on hold including the UPSC & SSC examination. The students have been under stress as there was no update on rescheduling of major recruitment exams.
In a relief to the students, Union Minister Jitendra Singh tweeted and confirmed that the exams will definitely take place. And that the exams will be rescheduled after May 3 in such a way to provide enough time to all the candidates to reach their designated examination centres.
“UPSC and SSC examinations that were put on hold due to lockdown, will definitely take place. We will take a call after May 3&reschedule dates in a manner that it gives sufficient time to all the aspirants to reach to their designated examination centers”, tweeted Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts various competitive examinations for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India. Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC exam to recruit at various levels of Government jobs. The recruitment by the UPSC & SSC sees massive participation every year.
