Due to the continuous rain that has caused floods in Tripura over the past few days, the toll says that at least 22 people have died, and two others are missing.

Ten people were buried under the rubble after landslides struck Ashwani Tripura Para and Debipur in Santirbazar, according to a Facebook post by Chief Minister Manik Saha. Additionally, he declared that the families of the deceased would receive an ex-gratia of ₹10 lakh.

The chief minister also appealed to the public to help the government and NDRF workers in the ongoing relief and rescue efforts. “The circumstances remain worrisome. I want to implore everyone to work with and support the NDRF teams as well as the government. I am personally visiting all the affected areas.”

  8. To ensure that about 85 people’s immediate food needs are satisfied during this crisis, the Army has also given them vital supplies and rations.
  9. On Thursday and Friday, the IMD has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in numerous locations throughout Tripura.
  10. Due to the severe weather, all state-run educational institutions are required to stay closed on Friday.
