Bollywood: Actor Shilpa Shetty has moved to the Bombay High Court with a plea to refrain media and social media platforms from publishing “incorrect, false, malicious, and defamatory information” content against her in connection with the arrest of her husband businessman Raj Kundra in the pornography case.
In her plea, Shilpa Shetty made news organizations and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram, and others as parties to plea. She added that these platforms are “smearing her reputation” by publishing sensationalized content against her.
She has appealed before the Court to prevent these platforms from further publishing any false or defamatory information. The plea states that the respondents should be directed to remove the defamatory content from their platforms and issue unconditional apologies for posting it. The Court has scheduled a hearing in the case today.
The Mumbai Session court today adjourned the order in the anticipatory bail application of Raj Kundra in the Maharashtra Cyber department case of 2020. The court cited paucity of time as a reason for adjournment and would pronounce the order on 2nd August.
