Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia celebrated Dusshera with his family in Gwalior today. Scindia reached his Deoghar in Gorkhi with his son Mahaaryaman today morning. The father and son duo were spotted in their royal attire decked up for the royal Pooja.
After performing the Pooja as per the legacy of the royal family, Scindia along with his son proceeded to tombs of the deceased members of his family, namely Grandmother Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, Father Madhavrao Scindia and paid homage to them. Apart from this the Jyotiraditya also visited a temple of Shivalya and Sudarshan Chkradhari Lord Vishnu.
Scindia in the evening is scheduled to visit the Mandre Mata temples to perform Shami Pooja, Following which Scinidia would perform rituals as per their tradition and convey greetings for Dusshera to all who attended the Pooja.
Scindia is the son of late Indian politician Madhvrao Scindia and the heir of the last ruler of the princely state of Gwalior. Dussehra holds a special place in Indian royal families. For some, it is the notion of victory over wars praying to their shastra, while others it is paying for reverence to their horses. Arms and armaments also play a major role in the royal celebration.
