A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young man who was riding a bike after several iron rods fell from a moving vehicle and pierced his body in Thrissur, Kuttanellur area, Kerala. The victim, identified as Sherin John, was riding behind an auto and a pickup van carrying iron rods behind him.
In a video that surfaced, shows an auto-rickshaw making a sudden U-turn in the middle of the road, which prompted Sherin, who was riding behind the auto, and a pickup van, transporting iron rods to stop abruptly. The sudden stop, pushed the iron rods, which appear to be tied loosely to the truck, forward and pierce to Sherin’s body. Locals can be seen rushing to the spot to remove the rods and rescue him.
Sherin was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries. Police van has been taken into custody. His body will be shifted to the district hospital mortuary for postmortem.
