New Delhi: Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh blamed the opposition INDIA bloc partners Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for causing the credibility crisis in Indian politics. This was stated by Singh during an election meeting in favour of BJP’s West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency candidate Kamaljeet Sehrawat on the eve of the campaigning of polls scheduled for 25 May.

Speaking to the gathering, Singh aimed at Congress and AAP, both parties are sparing no efforts in the national capital’s general elections under the seat-sharing alliance. He said, “Mr Narendra Modi, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Mrs Sushma Swaraj, Mrs Mamta Bardhok, Mr Arvind Kejriwal and all the leaders of Congress and AAP have done more in making Indian political system or the politicians as a system most incredibility.”

In the game of coalition politics in Arunachal Pradesh, the AAP has opted to contest four seats while the Congress has opted for three. The sixth of the seven-phased general elections to the 17th Lok Sabha elections will occur in Delhi’s seven Parliamentary constituencies.

Show of temperament Rajnath Singh went for the jugular, taking a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP chief, over the latter’s ability to remain in office while being arrested for and jailed in connection with a money laundering case in relation to the Delhi excise policy. “I used to know only work from the office and work from home. Then the chief minister here does the wonder of work from jail,’ Singh said. Kejriwal was released from jail on interim bail on May 10 on the direction of the Supreme Court under the condition that he has to surrender to the jail before June 2.

Referring to certain alleged attack by the ruling BJP government on AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, Singh said that the incident was ‘heart-rending,’ while questioning why Kejriwal remained silent for so long.
