Raipur: The National Tribal Dance Festival, which will take place in Raipur from October 28th to 30th, will feature Indian and international dance groups. Artists from Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Syria, Mali, Palestine, and the Kingdom of Eswatini will perform during the 3-day festival, which is part of the Chhattisgarh government’s tourism development plan. Artists from Chhattisgarh’s tribal territories of Bastar, Dantewada, Koriya, Korba, Bilaspur, Gariabandh, Mainpur, Dhura, Dhamtari, Surguja, and Jashpur will display their unique history, culture, and traditions.
The Dabke art group of Avtar Cultural Center from Palestine and the Sri Lankan team has reached Raipur. The Palestine group will perform the traditional Dabke dance at the Tribal Dance Festival. This year’s festival will feature tribes from Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Manipur, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir performing unique dance forms. There will be 2 categories of dance performances: “wedding ceremonies” and “other prominent rites.” The festival will feature discussions on tribal community economic development projects in addition to exhibiting indigenous art and culture. Visitors will be able to enjoy scrumptious Chhattisgarh tribal food, explore tribal-inspired fashion exhibitions, and shop for local and tribal handicrafts at a craft market.
Chhattisgarh NRI community-NACHA (North America Chhattisgarh Association) is going to scatter the art culture of Chhattisgarh all over the world. On the occasion of the 21st foundation day of Chhattisgarh on November 1st, a grand virtual event will be organized by NACHHA from America to the global level. In this virtual event, the world will be introduced to the culture, language and literature, along with explaining the objectives of the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh.
