Bengaluru: The proceeding against Prajwal Revanna, a former member of the Lok Sabha, who is in judicial custody until June 24, has received a fourth case against him. This case has been filed in the Crime Investigation Department (CID) office under the sections of sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation against Revanna. Presumably, he recorded the video call and forwarded it, leading to the new charges.
Two others, including former BJP MLA Hassan and Preetham Gowda, were also named after circulating the same video with Prajwal Revanna. The charges against Revanna include sections 354 ABD of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and clause 66E of the Information Technology Act 2000.
Before being arrested again by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at his home in Bengaluru on 31 May, there are several women accusing Revanna of rape and sexual assault. On Monday, last week, for the proceedings, a court in Bengaluru decided that he would be taken into judicial custody until at least July 8.
Revanna’s bail application was called by the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, to which the court said that it would deliver a verdict on the matter on June 26. They are still in the legal process as investigations and possibly judicial hearings and trials for the severe allegations against him continue.
