In a first-of-its-kind initiative involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Vadodara programme scheduled for Tuesday was housefull within an hour after free registrations opened on BookMyShow. More than 42,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list for the event, reflecting the immense enthusiasm among the public to attend the programme. officials said.
Registration for the prime ministerial programme was opened through BookMyShow, with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation using the private digital platform to manage registrations.
The programme will also feature a fully digital, technology-enabled entry system. Registered attendees will be required to show the M-ticket on their BookMyShow account, carrying a QR code for entry. The entire process, from registration and verification to venue entry and seating, will be managed digitally.
Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation three important sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor covering 326 kilometres developed at a cost of more than Rs 27,700 crore.
The three sections include New Sanand–New Makarpura, New Umbergaon–New Sakale, and New Sakale–New Jaitpuri sections.
Direct connectivity to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority will facilitate faster movement of export cargo, strengthen links between industrial centres and ports, reduce logistics costs and help decongest Mumbai’s railway network.
He will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand to New Makarpura, New Umbergaon to New Jaitpuri, and New Jaitpuri to Mumbai.
In addition, a passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara will also be flagged off.
The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the Tanda Road–New rail line developed as part of the Chhota Udepur–Dhar project. The rail line will connect remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur with the national rail network.
He is also set to lay foundation stones for, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation development projects worth Rs 35,000 crore in Gujarat, besides addressing a gathering.
