Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the first order in his third tenure as the prime minister of the world’s largest democracy. In his first order, PM Modi released the 17th installment of the PM kisan Nidhi.

After authorising the release of the ‘PM Kisan Nidhi’ funds amounting to nearly Rs 20,000 crore, PM Modi said,” “Ours is a government fully committed to ‘kisan kalyan’ (farmers’ welfare). It is, therefore, fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to it. We want to keep working even more for farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come.”

he Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector Scheme that provides financial assistance to all farmer families with cultivable land across the country, with certain exclusion criteria.

Under this Scheme, Rs. 6000 annually is transferred directly into farmers’ Aadhaar Seeded bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs. 2000. The Scheme, was launched by PM Modi in 2019.

Upon taking the oath as Union Minister, BJP leader L Murugan stated, “Our PM has a vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. He has always been thinking about the development of this nation. I got this opportunity from Tamil Nadu and I express my sincere thanks to PM Narendra Modi.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained L Murugan as a Union Minister in the new council of ministers. Despite his unsuccessful bid for the Nilgiris Parliamentary constituency, Murugan continues to hold his ministerial position.
