Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called the people’s trust as his greatest strength while asserting that it was not the time to rest but work harder to make the country a developed nation by 2047. His remarks came while he was addressing a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha program at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.

“This day is about reiterating that promise; it is a day to express that resolve which says, ‘We will definitely achieve it.’ We will achieve it; we will do it, we will do it, we will do it,” he pledged, coining the slogan and setting the tone for the nation’s developmental journey towards 2047.

“Today, I have completed 25 years of continuously serving as Head of Government. This is the blessing of the people. I bow before the people of the country,” he said.

Modi has been continuously serving as the head of government since October 2001. Initially, he was elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three terms and subsequently became the Prime Minister of India after winning three Lok Sabha elections.

Attributing his entire political journey to the support of the Indian citizens, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of the country and expressed gratitude to his colleagues and allies across the National Democratic Alliance.

Reflecting on his journey that began in Gujarat two decades ago, he recalled the oath-taking ceremony for the first time without previously having held an elected post. He said, “I express my gratitude to all of you and to all my fellow countrymen. When I took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 October 2001, I never imagined that this milestone would also come.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple, commemorating 25 years of his governance. Taking to social media, Modi on X wrote, “Performed puja and offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple in New Delhi today. Prayed to Lord Shri Ganesha for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of all my family members across the country.”

Meanwhile, Governors, Union ministers and Chief Ministers extended greetings to the Prime Minister, congratulating him on the remarkable achievement.
