NEW DELHI: Man who peed on co-passenger, Shashank Mishra to remain in judicial custody further. Metropolitan Magistrate Komal Garg, dismissed the bail plea application saying it was not appropriate to release him on bail at this stage.
Mishra was arrested by Delhi police on Thursday last week for urinating on a woman co-passenger on an Air India flight. He was sent to a 14-day judicial custody by Delhi court. The bail plea submitted by Mishra read, “Considering the fact that the alleged incident happened with a senior citizen, the Applicant (Shankar Mishra) sought to alleviate the situation and tendered unconditional apologies and promised to compensate the Complainant (elderly woman).”
The Delhi police that opposed the bail plea said that Mishra has the power to influence the complaint if let out on bail.
Mishra during the investigation has confeesed to have been intoxicated during the flight. He could not get proper sleep before the flight as he and his friend took turns while driving in the US, the police said.
On Tuesday, Delhi police recorded the statement of two crew members of Air India. “Statements of the two crew members on board the alleged Air India flight on November 26 were recorded on Tuesday. In their statements, the duo narrated the sequence of events that unfolded on the day of the incident,” said a senior police officer.
The Ailrine, its pilot at the time of the flight and crew members have been issued a show cause notice. Also the airlines has de-rostered the pilot and the crew members until further notice.
