Madhya Pradesh: The Congress High Command today appointed Nitendra Singh as the party’s candidate for ensuing the upcoming by-elections in the state. Political activity heated up in the state as EC announced by-polls for the state on September 26th. The people of the state would poll for candidates in three assembly segments and one Lok Sabha seat.
All elections were necessitated after the seats felt vacant as the MLAs and MPs succumbed to the novel virus this year. The Jobat seat fell vacant after Congress MLA Kalwati Bhuria expired, likewise, the Prithvipur seat also fell vacant after the demise of another MLA of the party Brijendra Singh Rathore.
BJP and Congress are busy in parleys stalking their claim by showing their popularity and influence among the masses of their respective areas.
Keeping in mind the pandemic, EC had issued directives to political parties in the poll-bound state to observe COVID norms while filing their nomination. As per their notice, not more than 3 vehicles are allowed at the office of the returning officer whilst filing the nomination. The poll is scheduled for October 30 while the votes would be numbered on November 2.
