A massive fire has broken out in the AC coach of Trivandrum-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (12431) near Ratlam. A sudden fire broke out in the B1 AC coach of Trivandrum-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (12431) between Alot and Lunirichha stations at around 5:30 am on Sunday morning, causing panic among the passengers aboard the entire train.
After getting information about the accident, hooter started sounding at Kota Junction. Railway workers separated the burning coach from the train. This averted a major accident. After the accident, the Delhi-Mumbai route is currently closed. Rail operations on this route have been disrupted for the last two hours.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain said that there were 68 passengers on board the coach. No casualties have been reported at this time. At the time of the accident, 68 passengers were traveling in the AC coach. All passengers are currently safe.
The guard first alerted the loco pilot to the fire. The train was then stopped and passengers evacuated. The entire coach was evacuated in about 15 minutes. Within minutes, the fire spread throughout the coach. Railway officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
