New Delhi: India recorded 1,892 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections to 4,31,27,199. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 2,549 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,87,259. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.42 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 15,647 accounting for 0.04 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 753 cases in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent recorded 33 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,293.
With the administration of more than 14.97 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 191.65 Cr (1,91,65,00,770) according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Under the 12+ vaccination program which began on March 16th, more than 3.21 Cr (3,21,04,984) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far. Under the precautionary dose administration program for the age group, 18-44 immunized 4,67,605 individuals so far.
